Serving Leadership & Civic Engagement

Dave can get your students excited and energized about community service and becoming a serving leader.  Your students will get involved and engaged and learn that if they are asking “what’s in it for me?”, then they are asking the wrong question. They will leave with the knowledge that serving leadership is about action and putting others, and/or the team, above self in a way that lifts everyone up. These programs will make them more involved students now and better citizens of their community and world in the future!

Serving Leadership and Civic Engagement for Students:

Dave also has a great how-to, step-by-step program for creating and completing fundraisers and service projects that can be added to any of these topics, or serve as a stand-alone workshop called Making a Difference Through Service Projects and Fundraisers.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (1929-1968) American Baptist minister, civil rights leader, author “Everybody can be great. Because anybody can serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”

I use this quote in my serving leadership program as an example of true leadership, serving others. I believe that Dr. King was saying that our greatness will be determined by our service.

But, what is greatness in this context. It is the impact you have on the lives of others. It is the dignity you lend to someone by lifting them up. It is the respect and compassion that you show to those in need. It is the legacy of love, heart, and soul that you will leave with this world.

Be great. Serve!
