Student Leadership Board Quick Start Package for Canadian Schools

Learning Outcomes: New student leadership board members will learn how to run meetings effectively utilizing Parliamentary Procedure, their roles and responsibilities in their position, keys to advocating for students on your campus, and how to create a vision with goals to support it’s realization.

Leadership Solutions: Give your students the boost they need to successfully transition from a newly elected officer or leader in your student association into a team that is getting things done for your students on your campus. The Quick Start Package will get them off and running right from Day 1!

One of the best things in student leadership is to run for a position and get elected! But, then, the real work begins. YIKES! Some students have it all figured out, others have no idea what they are getting into, and still others are in-between those extremes.

The basic package has four programs:

  1. Creating a Vision and Setting Goals and Expectations for the Year This program is  part workshop, part coaching session and will help your students to coalesce their thoughts, ideas, goals, and visions into a cohesive plan for achievement.
  2. What is Student Leadership Board? Student Leadership 101 – A program customized for you based on your constitution and/or bylaws. Your student association members and leaders will know and understand their roles, as well as the roles of the other positions in SA. The session can also include a fun gamification of the material in the presentation.
  3. Parliamentary Procedure for Student Associations – One of the most important things that SA does is run effective meetings. That means everyone involved needs to know how to make motions, seconds, amendments, debate and discuss the proposals, and more. This is Dave’s most popular session and will help your SA to get things done!
  4. Be a Positive Force for Change as a Visionary Leader – Student associations are the voice of the students on their campus. SAs can advocate for change and on issues of importance to students. This session will give your SA the tools it needs to successfully influence decision makers.

The Student Leadership Quick Start is available either as a virtual presentation or in-person. Virtual programs can be done all in one day, spread out over a couple of days, or even over a few weeks. In-person can be done in one or two days. Total time of the presentations is 4-5 hours.

“What if we want to substitute one of Dave’s other topics for the ones shown above in the basic package?” No problem! Dave will be happy to switch the topics to best serve the needs of your students.

Pricing is as follows:

Virtual: $2,600 CAD all inclusive
(additional topics can be added for $400 CAD each)

In-Person: $4,500 CAD all inclusive of travel costs, lodging, meals, etc.
